Warning: This is going to be long! I promise there are pictures with all these words!
I always joke that if a bride books with me, she will have perfect weather on her wedding day! All of the numerous outdoor weddings (too many to count) I have photographed, have always had the best weather. Leave it to my second shooter to break my winning streak! We all woke up this past Saturday morning to overcast skies, freezing rain, gale force winds (ok maybe not that windy), and reports of snow fall from surrounding counties. Now, if you live up north or somewhere like Alaska… this isn’t a big deal. If you plan a November wedding, you expect to probably have snow falling. Down here in the south, November is pretty mild and most days are in the 60’s-70’s. Thanks to an early cold front that whipped through, we got temps in the 30’s-40’s on Saturday. I was worried how Kelley would be handling the weather, but that girl is a trooper! And by the way, Kelley did have perfect weather for her wedding day! Keep reading to see how it all ended up!
We started the morning bright and early with Dunkin Donuts coffee, smiles, laughter, and lots of hairspray at Fringe Hair Salon. These girls are awesome at what they do and make the salon a fun and inviting place. Brett’s cousin Emily did Kelley’s hair and makeup and made sure we had a great time hanging out. After everyone was dolled up we headed to The Marbury Center.
Once at The Marbury Center and after checking the weather radar, the decision was made to move the ceremony indoors. Let me just say, that Sandra Burton is amazing! She transformed the reception hall into a gorgeous, intimate, and cozy ceremony space with little time.
The sun finally decided to show up a little before the start time of the ceremony and we were able to get some gorgeous shots outside (still in the freezing wind) before and after the ceremony. Brett, Kelley, and their families were troopers for working with us to get the shots we needed while freezing!
The rest of the day was beautiful, intimate, full of laughter (and a few tears), and it turned out to be the perfect day for Kelley and Brett. I believe that God has the perfect plan for each of us (even if it is just a wedding day), and it turned out to be the perfect setting for Kelley and Brett. How many other brides can say they had snow and sun on their wedding day in Augusta, GA!
Kelley and Brett, aren’t you proud? I held it together through the ceremony! I only shed a couple of tears and all the images were in focus! I am so proud of you both and love you like family. I am so happy I was able to be a part of your wedding day and to capture these moments for you to enjoy over and over again. Kelley, thank you for keeping me sane this last year and I love having you work with me. You were such a gorgeous bride and never once a bridezilla! I’m so glad it was finally your turn! I hope it was everything you dreamed of and so much more.

This shows how much work it is for the girls on a wedding day, while the guys have fun… yes those are bullets from Brett’s trip to the range and I think he went out to lunch too! Must be nice!
My second shooter for the day was the very talented Julia! She was awesome to work with and got all of the detail shots for me. Thank you Julia for working with me today and be up for anything. You were on top of it and were a joy to work with!
I love me a good first look!
Kelley decided to do a first look with her brothers! It was such a sweet moment.
Love working with Mike to get these awesome group shots at our weddings.
Thanks to my sister-in-law for manning the photo booth throughout the evening and capturing these fun shots! There are so many great ones! If you need a photobooth for your wedding or event, please contact us! We offer photobooth, backdrop, and prop coverage with or without other photography coverage. We offer these services as a stand alone collection.
Love this shot Julia got!
